Auvergne's gastronomy is rich and varied

The first dish that springs to mind is truffade. This local speciality is made with potatoes and Cantal tomme cheese. It is usually served with salad, and sometimes with local ham.
Truffade is the dish not to be missed during your stay. You can rely on the talent of the chefs in the restaurants of the Puy-de-Dôme.

Potée auvergnate is another dish often served in restaurants in the Puy-de-Dôme. It’s a simmered mixture of pork and vegetables (potatoes, turnips, cabbage, carrots, etc.).
The bravest will enjoy tripoux d’Auvergne, cooked with mutton belly, local ham and herbs.

And if you want to finish on a sweet note, why not try a dessert?
Most of the restaurants in Riom, Volvic, Châtel-Guyon, Clermont-Ferrand and the surrounding area will offer you the chance to discover local specialities.
