The Conseil Départemental du Puy-de-Dôme is helping to promote car sharing by supporting local authorities wishing to set up car sharing areas. Nine car sharing areas of local interest have been approved in the Riom Limagne et Volcans area, at Riom, Chambaron-sur-Morge, Ennezat, Lussat, Marsat, Saint-Beauzire, Volvic, Saint Laure and Saint Bonnet Près Riom.

In its regional development plan, the RLV has made mobility one of its priorities, in particular the objective of offering alternatives to the private car for daily home/work journeys and tourist mobility.

  • RLV’lo: from Riom station, for short or long-term hire. Information is available from the RLV Mobilité service (counter at Riom station).
  • RLV’lib: self-service bicycles in the area. 15 bicycle stations throughout the Terra Volcana area.

 By public transport

The RLV Mobilités public transport network serves several towns in the Terra Volcana area: Riom, Châtel-Guyon, Volvic, Enval, Mozac, Marsat, Ennezat and Saint-Bonnnet-Près-Riom.

The Châtel-Guyon spa, for example, can be reached by bus in 15 minutes from Riom SNCF station. Be sure to check the timetable beforehand.

If you want to travel further afield in the département, the region offers a number of bus routes, including :
