A visit to the l’Aventure Michelin museum is like stepping into the history of one of the world’s largest industrial groups, a must-see activity in Terra Volcana of a global brand, born at the foot of a UNESCO heritage site.

In the beginning, there were two visionary brothers: Édouard and André Michelin. And that’s where the adventure began: the evolution of mobility, from cycling to Formula 1 via aviation and the Micheline; the passion for sports and competition, from a Paris-Brest cycling race to one of the most famous rugby clubs in the world, from records in the air to challenges on the road, from the first removable tyre to the sports equipment of tomorrow.

The l’Aventure Michelin museum also tells the story of travel and holidays, with a collection of editions of the famous Green Guide, and the history of road maps, milestones and the Deudeuch.

Are you a gourmet? Then this is for you too! The dreaded Michelin gastronomic guide also features prominently in the 2,000 square metre exhibition space, as it is clearly part of the adventure and the legend.

The scenography designed in this former Michelin workshop is a sensory and playful immersion that recounts the diversity of theMichelin Adventure.

At the centre of the visit is an iconic character, one of the best logos in the world: the Michelin Man! Would you like to take a selfie with the “icon of the millennium 2018″? With his smile and round face, he’s a favourite with children and adults alike. Recognised the world over, he’s a real star.

You’ll learn all about this French success story, from the radial structure revolution to the centipede, not the insect but the other one, from the life stories of the “Bibs” to the Éclair, from the rubber plantations to the Michelin Vison airless wheel.
The adventure of the small manufacturer born in Auvergne at the foot of the volcanoes of the Chaîne des Puys more than 100 years ago will surprise you.

Discover the cloud catcher, an exploration game inside the Michelin adventure

The mission (if you accept it…): in teams of 1 to 6 players maximum, on a touch pad, come and build a prototype of this cloud catcher, but be careful, some parts are missing. You’ll have to explore the Michelin Adventure to bring this extraordinary machine out of oblivion. An adventure for all ages, with friends and family.

*No booking required, available during l’Aventure Michelin opening hours (last entry before 4pm). Price: €16 per adult, €12 for 7-18 year-olds and free for under-7s (with proof of age).

Organise your visit to the Michelin Adventure Museum

To avoid queuing, tours can be booked online. Group visits must, of course, be planned in advance. Free on-site parking is available right next to the l’Aventure Michelin museum. You won’t have any trouble parking. Guided tours can only be booked for groups of 9 or more. Tours are available in French, English, Spanish and German.

TheASM Experience is a unique attraction in France dedicated to rugby and ASM Clermont Auvergne. Located at the Marcel-Michelin stadium, it combines a museum, interactive technologies and a guided tour to immerse visitors in the world of the club from Auvergne.

What the ASM Experience has to offer :

Interactive museum: more than 600 m² of themed exhibition space. You’ll discover the history of the club, the values of rugby, behind the scenes, the changing rooms, the rules of the game, interactive games (touch, penalty simulation, etc.) and even augmented reality.
Guided tour of the Marcel-Michelin stadium: access to the stands, entrance tunnel, changing rooms and historical anecdotes about the stadium.
