Take advantage of Terra Volcana’s winding loops to flirt with some of the most beautiful volcanoes in the Chaîne des Puys.

The seductive curves of the Puy des Gouttes and the Puy de Louchadière will beckon you along roads that often end in the mythical Puy de Dôme. Let’s set off for a hundred or so kilometres through some of the most undulating countryside in Terra Volcana!

Starting and finishing in the city of art and history of Riom, these winding loops will take you to some of the most emblematic volcanic sites in the Puy-de-Dôme and the Auvergne!

On the plains, the characterful villages of Terra Volcana lend their soul to this motorbike tour, which oscillates between country rides and impressive châteaux. From the charming spa town of Châtel-Guyon, a hundred kilometres or so will take you through the medieval wine-growing village ofArtonne, the ancient fortified town ofAigueperse and its delicious home-made pralines, and the Butte de Montpensier, a veritable balcony overlooking the volcanoes.

Just a few kilometres separate you fromEffiat and its magnificently decorated Renaissance château, as well as Randan and its fascinating Domaine Royal, with its astonishing size and distinctive silhouette.

One visit and then you’re off, and the road stretches all the way to Maringues, the town of tanners and its picture-postcard scenery.

For lovers of Auvergne produce, don’t miss the Monday morning market, one of the most typical in the region, and discover the well-kept secret of Maringuois cheese!
