Escape games and treasure hunts in Puy-de-Dôme

Are you a gambler? Yes ? Then this article is for you! Like a master of the game, its author will take you from treasure hunt to escape game in the sometimes mysterious territory of Terra Volcana, in the heart of the Auvergne… And you’ll see that you’ve got your work cut out to become THE adventurous family of the summer!

Family fun in the Puy-de-Dôme region

A few details to avoid confusing newcomers:

An escape game is a team game that takes participants from enigma to enigma, each one leading them to the solution of a mystery. To make matters worse, the whole thing has to be solved within a limited time.
A treasure hunt, on the other hand, follows a signposted route from enigma to enigma in search of clues. The notion of time is less important.

As the writer George Bernard Shaw said, “We don’t stop playing because we grow old, but we grow old because we stop playing”!

And what if Terra Volcana actually made you feel younger?

 In a castle

At the Château de Portabéraud in Mozac, just a few dozen metres from the famous Romanesque abbey, the master of the house, Gabriel Mercier, is the guiding light for 2 treasure hunts.

Here, a children’s version and an adult version take place in the remarkable gardens of this residence from the Age of Enlightenment. And these gardens are famous for housing the terracotta statues of Lord Gabriel Mercier, the whimsical patron of Portabéraud.

It’s a fun way to learn about the history of this place, with the whole family, of course, and to enjoy thespecial atmosphere of the château and its romantic garden.
