Volcanoes

In the heart of the Chaîne des Puys, just 5 minutes from Vulcania park, the Dark Lab brewpub offers home-cooked food and craft beers brewed on site. It’s a lively place, with live music every Friday evening in summer. A lovely tree-lined terrace awaits you at this not-to-be-missed venue in the Puy-de-Dôme.

On the way back down to Volvic, there are several places to eat! Looking for gourmet, local cuisine? Then head for the restaurant du Commerce, in the town centre, or La Rose des Vents, in a more natural setting.

In July and August, the ideal place to stop off on your discovery of the Château de Tournoël in Volvic is certainly theAuberge la Chaumière. The bubbly Bénédicte Barre will offer you a choice of galettes and crêpes with Auvergne cheeses. The setting is exceptional, with a breathtaking view over the Limagne plain.

Garden cuisine in the spotlight

Eating local and vegetarian has never been so trendy! In Terra Volcana, several restaurateurs are offering menus with daring vegetarian and vegan choices.

In Volvic, the Tiers-lieu Les Vinzelles combines restaurant, bookshop and events. Its enchanting gardens are home to Margaux and Béatrice’s dishes, with weekly menus inspired by the vegetables of permaculture farmer Jean-Philippe and local produce.

In Riom, Ciboulette et pain d’épices (Chives and gingerbread ) surprises with vegetarian and vegan combinations, where seasonal vegetables are sublimated by daring mixes. Healthy, gourmet desserts complete a rich culinary experience that is renewed every season.

Riom, a town of history and gastronomy

When it comes to cuisine, Riom’s restaurants are not to be outdone, serving up tasty treats for the curious!

At the BHV 2.1 bistro, the chef prepares traditional dishes with surprising seasonal combinations. The wine list features the favourites of a team of connoisseurs.

On the way up to Châtel-Guyon, theAuberge de la Croix de Fer boasts a panoramic terrace with a view of the volcanoes. On the menu, traditional recipes revisited, local meats, vegetarian dishes and natural wines.

And what if you were told about the truffle? Just a stone’s throw from Riom, in Ménétrol, there’s a place where this emblematic dish from the Auvergne has acquired its letters of nobility: the restaurant En Attendant Louise! Here the team bend over backwards to satisfy even the biggest appetites, with a menu that gives pride of place to local, seasonal produce. And while much of the Puy-de-Dôme region sings the praises of its truffade, there are plenty of other dishes to discover in this friendly restaurant with the “Bistrot de Pays” label!

A wide choice at Châtel-Guyon

In the charming spa town of Châtel-Guyon, you’ll find a number of renowned restaurants.

At the Table Brayaude, the menu pays homage to the land, with beef steaks from Salers, truffles and Auvergne tarts.

A few streets away, in the heart of Avenue Baraduc, L’Impulsif has succeeded in bringing together two cultures: Auvergne’s terroir and Asian cuisine. Awardeda Michelin star in 2024, Rémi’s dishes tell a family story, steeped in his Vietnamese grandmother.

Finally, if you’re looking for healthy, well-being cuisine, the Aïga restaurant in the heart of the Châtel-Guyon thermal baths is the place to go.
